Nokia’s N-Series Tablets running the Linux will get a new member addition very soon, if we are to go by the usually reliable folks at MobileCrunch.

Apparently, they have the pictures, specs and all details regarding the upcoming tablet. For “security” reasons, those have been held back – only to be released when the appropriate time comes. That, however, did not stop them from conjuring a blog post on the details of the upcoming device.

To start with, the N900, as it is now called, will sport an OMAP3 processor, similar to the one used by the Palm Pre and will also support graphics acceleration. On the software front, it is almost certain to expect Maemo 5 to make an appearance on the device. Visually though, there might not be much of a difference. Other features include the large 3.5-inch WVGA display, WiFi, HSPA and 32GB of memory expandable to 48GB.

On the imaging front, there is a 5 megapixel camera that finds its way in with autofocus and LED flash. That makes many ponder whether this would pit the tablet directly against its cousin, the slightly smaller N97. Now, what makes the story more interesting is that this one is expected to hit European retailers by July – that’s barely a month post the N97 launch that is expected in the first week of June! Exciting times ahead!
